A little thought for Cool Steps

Tenderness is often quieter then we expect.

It doesn’t need big words or grand gestures.

Sometimes it is simply noticing.

Noticing when someone becomes unusually quiet.

Giving a child a little more time to find the words…

Listening without immediately trying to fix things.

Remembering that behind difficult behavior there is always a person trying to cope with something.

Tenderness is not weakness.

It is paying attention to another human being-to their feelings, their boundaries, their fears and their small joys.

And perhaps this is something children and young people need more then we realise:

to feel seen, without having to perform.

To feel heard, without having to explain everything perfectly.

To know that they matter, simply because they are here.

Sometimes a little kindness, given at the right moment, can stay with someone for a very long time.

Small steps. Human connections.
